Of Mukwonago, formerly of Waupan, died peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and close friends at the age of 67. He was born in Beaver Dam on June 14, 1949, son of Arthur and Dorothy (nee Voight) Broadway.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from April 1969 until March 1974 serving in Vietnam. On September 12, 1981 he married Dolores Misiewicz in Milwaukee and was proudly by his side through thick and thin.
When not working for the airlines, John enjoyed being out in nature. He and Dolores bought a log cabin in Wautoma and called it “Utopia”. Another pastime was buying and selling antiques at flee markets. John enjoyed yoga, exercise classes, and biking.
He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Dolores. He is the brother-in-law of Kathy, Josie, Barbara (Gary) Plath; brother of Sandy Reichert; and uncle of Stacy, Luke, Flora, Laura, Justin, Ty, John, Amy, Sam, Ainsley, Tom, Erin, and Greta Sue.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15th at Vernon Ev. Lutheran Church (S90 W27550 National Ave. Vernon) from 9:00 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at 3:00 PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove with military honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in John’s memory.
