Laufenberg, Buford George

Age 86, of Menomonee Falls, passed away Monday March 13, 2017 peacefully at home. George was born on February 21, 1931 in Grand Marsh to the late Jacob and Cecilia (nee Sieger) Laufenberg.

George served in the Army and enjoyed writing music in his youth. After serving, he worked for several years in manufacturing, rubber stamping and woodworking. During his retirement he could often be found playing competitive cribbage, fishing, collecting coins and always sharing jokes with everyone he encountered.

Those George leaves to cherish his memory include his children: Michael (Jean) Laufenberg, Scott Laufenberg, Louise (Mark) Parve and Dena (Tim) Tate; step-children: Kevin Hughes and Robert Hughes; Grandchildren: Ryan (Jenny) Christy (Max), Jenny, Amy (Chad), Jessica (Aaron), Alex (Kayla), Justin, Nathan and Jake; Great-Grandchildren: Madison, Emma, Knox, Alex, Nila, Gordon, Cecily, Ava and Arlo.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his grandson Josh and his siblings Beatrice Sinclair, Myrtle Small, Catherine Wipf, Matilda Pinkowski, Angeline Crane, Adeline Erdman, Melvin Laufenberg, Geneva Laufenberg, Donald Laufenberg and Orley Laufenberg.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday March 26 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls from 10 AM until the Time of Sharing and Military Honors at 11 AM.
